More Companies Become EDI active Every Day
Below is a list of industries containing over 800 U.S. and Canadian companies that are currently Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) active. EDI stretches across a wide variety of industries with the same results: innovation and success. Too often process automation savings are left on the table because customer service does not ask non-EDI customers about their capability. Many think that it’s not their position to ask. Nearly all mid-sized companies with sales over $100,000,000 have EDI capability for their vendors, which includes your company. The key is to learn their capability.
If any of these companies are a key customer of yours, but you do not currently do EDI with them, perhaps it is worth consideration for the benefits:
- More time to scrutinize for the correct prices, discounts, and promotions.
- More time to fulfill when data entry delays are eliminated.
- More savings when head count can be capped.
The time needed to add a customer is about 12 hours. This includes testing, training users, setting AS2, cut-over, and monitoring. As a plus, your existing AS2 secure internet data transmission system can be used (if a new document is needed, more time will be as well).
Contact Data Communication Solutions (DCS) today and we can ask the company’s I.T. department (not the buyer) for their EDI guidelines to get the process started.
